The University of Utah Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is currently searching for an Abdominal Imaging Radiologist with a focus on innovation and a desire to contribute to a collaborative environment that fosters growth in the Abdominal Imaging section. The successful candidate will provide clinical services, participate in quality improvement and value initiatives, engage in research projects, and provide teaching for residents and fellows. The position comes with an academic appointment, which will be at a rank based on experience and training. Depending on the candidate's experience, a departmental leadership position may also be available.

Qualifications:
The candidate should be American Board of Radiology certified or eligible, have completed a fellowship (or equivalent) in abdominal imaging, and possess a strong interest in academic radiology. Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills are essential, as is prior evidence of research productivity. The ideal candidate should actively engage in investigational research and extramurally funded research projects.

Facilities and Institution:
The Abdominal Imaging program at the University of Utah offers access to cutting-edge CT, MRI, ultrasound (including low- and high-risk OB US), and fluoroscopy equipment, as well as image-guided interventional procedures. The section provides clinical services at the University Hospital, Huntsman Cancer Hospital (a premier cancer center designated by the NCI), and multiple outpatient centers throughout the Wasatch Front. The section comprises 11 faculty members (2022) and adjunct faculty, along with three fellows. The department is renowned for its educational publications, which are distributed internationally. The University of Utah Health Sciences offers an exceptional residency program in Diagnostic Radiology and an abdominal imaging fellowship program. The department has extensive imaging resources, including multiple MRIs, dual-energy CTs, intraoperative MRI, and PET-CT scanners for clinical work and research. The department also provides pre-clinical imaging resources, such as micro PET- MRI and 7T MRI.

Research opportunities are abundant, with a broad case mix from the sources mentioned above, as well as unique support provided by the Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research (UCAIR)in the department. UCAIR is a renowned international leader in imaging sciences, including basic sciences, physics and engineering, MRI research, and CT and PET research. The University of Utah Health Sciences also offers various leadership programs and research training opportunities for faculty members. Lastly, the University of Utah Hospital and Clinics have been ranked in the top 10 in Quality, Safety, and Accountability among all academic medical centers for the past decade, making it a leader in quality care.
