This part time position (Monday – Friday, 5 hours per day, 8am – 1pm) provides administrative and clerical support to the Vine School Health Center Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Social Workers, and students by organizing tasks and information, preparing documents, completing referrals and billing among other clerical duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Answering phones and greeting patients; coordination of daily appointments- scheduling new ones and managing existing ones, assisting with referrals to specialists and follow-up; managing patient records including scanning and faxing; immunization compliance/record support; receptionist duties (front desk organization, maintaining clinic documents, coordinating deliveries in/out of the clinic, etc.); finance and insurance clerical duties including obtaining pre-certifications for procedures and assisting with weekly billing; managing medical records requests.;
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Skills to manage electronic health record and practice management system, financial transactions, Microsoft applications, and other applications necessary to perform job functions
- Skills to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and easily prioritize duties each day
- Ability to organize and problem solve administrative tasks and office responsibilities
- Ability to communicate with staff and practitioners and to appropriately direct patient calls
- Customer service skills to interact with staff, faculty, and patient’s in a professional, sensitive, and confidential manner
- Ability to adapt in high pressure situations and still maintain courtesy and professionalism
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a high school diploma or GED
- Associates’ degree; experience in a healthcare field in a similar position.
- Computer skills and knowledge of electronic health records.
