Physical Requirements
The essential functions for this position include the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds on a daily basis and 25-50 pounds frequently; as well as stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, hazards of radiation, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.
Shift
Primarily weekdays with some evenings and weekends required per department needs.
Job Summary
The primary responsibilities of this position consist of assessing, developing, planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs for the procedural/endoscopy area. This includes oversite of initial and annual competencies, continuing education and leadership development. The RN educator will assess the environment to determine educational needs of patients and procedural/endoscopy personnel. Plan and provide education and educational resources to staff. The educator will act as a clinical resource for procedural/endoscopy staff using evidence-based standards and professional guidelines. They will assist leadership and staff in the evaluation of current procedural/endoscopy practices through quality and process improvement measures. Educator will collaborate with members of the health care team at the department and enterprise level. Serves as a consultant to other areas within the enterprise. Facilitate and monitor procedural/endoscopy personnel compliance with organizational policies and procedures and regulatory and accreditation standards. Serves as a mentor to team members. Manage all aspects of educational projects. Assists procedural/endoscopy personnel in assessing their individual learning needs and styles by utilizing adult learning concepts. Maintains employee educational data and records. Facilitates student learning experiences. Pursues professional growth and participates in a professional organization. Acts as a patient advocate and maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.
