Physical Requirements

The physical requirements for this position include regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods with repetitive motion (such as typing); walking including pushing, pulling, and/or lifting up to 10 lbs, and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects up to 25 lbs.

Shift

Monday – Friday, Day Shift; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (40 hrs/wk); Hybrid (1 week in office, 1 week remote)

Job Summary

The Administrative Support Associate I will provide key support to the Administration and Education offices of the Department of Psychiatry, acting as the first contact and supporting departmental activities. This role requires executive-level administrative experience in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include scheduling and document preparation for the Department Chair and Administrator, Vice Chair for Education and faculty across the department, managing faculty affairs, onboarding, and administrative support for the Department of Psychiatry's education team which includes faculty, staff, and residents. This individual will provide general administrative support for faculty, staff, and residents across the department, as well as handle purchasing, accounting, payroll processes, calendar management, and credentialing and clinical privileges enrollment. The role may involve support to special projects and participation in creating a healthier community through academic medicine, community engagement, and education.

This position is a hybrid position and will require a rotation of one week onsite at Fountain Court and one week working remotely.

The Department employs physicians, psychologists, therapists, and other mental health professionals to provide a wide variety of behavioral health and substance use treatment services at multiple locations. Our clinicians provide care at our UK Psychiatric & Behavioral Health Care Clinic at Fountain Court – Lexington, KY, Albert B. Chandler Hospital – Lexington, KY, Good Samaritan Hospital – Lexington, KY, Eastern State Hospital – Lexington, KY as well as various other clinics and departments throughout the UK HealthCare system and outside organizations throughout Kentucky. Our team of researchers are working to advance the understanding of behavioral health and how behavioral health conditions are managed and treated. Our department has five ACGME-certified residency training programs which focus on training more than 50 physicians each year to become the future leaders in psychiatry.

The Department of Psychiatry's administration and education office is located near the Hamburg area of Lexington at 245 Fountain Ct., Lexington, KY, 40509. This off-campus location provides free onsite parking for employees and patients as well as a primary care/urgent care clinic and retail pharmacy that is accessible for both patients and employees.
