Position Description
The Department of Pharmacy Practice of the Irma Lerma School of Pharmacy at Texas A&M University invites applications for a a full-time non-tenure-track faculty position with an 11-month academic appointment in College Station, TX. The position is available immediately, and applications will continue to be accepted until the position is filled.
Applicants will be considered for the titles of Research Assistant, Research Associate, or Research Professor and Director of the Pharmacy Practice Laboratory at the College Station Campus. S/he will provide academic leadership and direction of clinical, translational and bench research program for the Department of Pharmacy Practice, collaborate with other faculty, work closely with all stakeholders within the School of Pharmacy, educate and train PharmD and PhD candidates, and provide service.
The successful candidate will be an innovative, collaborative, and strategic academic researcher with the potential for or demonstrated sustained extramural grant support, research, scholarship, and teaching portfolio consistent with a research-intensive academic institution. The position will lead the Department of Pharmacy Practice and the School of Pharmacy to advance clinical trials, translational and bench research. Numerous opportunities for funding such programs exist, ranging from the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, Food, and Drug Administration, Private Foundations, and the Pharmaceutical Industry. Thus, demonstrated experience in securing competitive research grants and scholarship are expected of candidates.
The position requires teaching, service, and research to the Department/School, the profession, and the public. The position provides opportunities for an individual with a strong commitment to an academic career emphasizing innovative educational, service, research and scholarly activities. Academic responsibilities include, but are not limited to, education of professional, graduate students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications
Candidates for this position must have a doctoral degree (PharmD or PhD) and postdoctoral research training or equivalent experience. Candidates with extramural funding, research, scholarship, pharmacokinetics experience, and teaching portfolio consistent with a research-intensive academic institution are preferred. Faculty rank and salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
