Senior Accountant/Manager

We are seeking a Senior Accountant/Manager to manage and develop our bookkeeping and payroll business. Qualified applicants need to have experience with full cycle accounting and bookkeeping, solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws, expert knowledge of QuickBooks (Desktop and Online), familiarity with tax returns, and experience managing others. The ideal candidate for this position is detail oriented, organized, reliable, trustworthy, self-motivated, and able to handle change easily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Onboard new bookkeeping and payroll clients
- Manage work for bookkeeping and payroll staff
- Develop, grow and manage team
- Provide feedback and assistance to employees as needed to close out bookkeeping routinely
- Troubleshoot issues with reconciliation of client's books
- Respond to routine client questions timely
- Enter journal entries as needed
- File Sales Tax returns for clients and record transaction correctly in books
- Keep assets and liabilities current and organized for client
- Maintain and use workflow management system
- Communicate with clients regarding items needed to accurately complete their bookkeeping and payroll
- Prepare and send financial reports to clients on a regular schedule or as requested
- Analyze financials reports and be able to discuss with clients and make recommendations
- Ensure payroll is processed for clients accurately and timely and that all necessary taxes and returns are remitted and filed
- Research and resolve client or system problems
- File various items for client - Business License, Personal Property returns, Annual Census, WC Audits, etc
- Meet with clients to review financials and discuss business
- Close out books at end of year and prepare financials for tax preparation
- Assist with tax preparation process during busy season as needed
- Review tax information supplied by client and communicate what is needed for return completion
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Expert Knowledge of QuickBooks - Desktop and Online
- Strong computer aptitude, including expertise in Microsoft products and other accounting software
- 5-10 years accounting experience in accounting firm or similar work environment
- EA, CPA or MBA is a plus
- Experience with Asana is a plus
- Excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills
- Ability to manage and develop staff
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities is required
- Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
- Strong organization, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to adapt, take initiative, work independently or with others
