The Assistant Director of Residential Life for Housing Operations manages all aspects of housing operations, including occupancy management, housing contracts and agreements, assignments, housing policies and procedures, opening/closing processes, and central office operations. This position oversees the use of the StarRez housing management system. This position routinely collaborates with campus partners to facilitate housing operations that meet student needs and contribute to their residential experience. The Assistant Director is a full-time member of the Office of Residential Life and reports to the Assistant Vice President for the Residential Experience. This is a live-off position.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a member of the Residential Experience Leadership Team and work in conjunction with colleagues from Residential Life, Student Conduct, Campus Life & Engagement and Student Success to enhance the student residential experience.
- Oversee the day-to-day occupancy management process of the housing community compromised of approximately 2400 student beds including applications, contracts, assignments, emergency spaces and room changes.
- Facilitate cyclical openings and closings including transitions (fall/spring, spring/summer, summer/fall) and break periods (Thanksgiving, winter and spring break).
- Develop and maintain all system administrator functions of StarRez; responsible for the administration of security, user accounts and role assignments. Manage housing interfaces and liaise with IT staff to troubleshoot issues.
- Maintain data within StarRez. Create, maintain and update reports. Execute queries for individuals, departments and outside entities, as requested.
- Train individual users and functional teams on StarRez within Residential Life and campus partners, as appropriate. Maintain accurate student housing files and records through database management systems. Navigate data within multiple semesters across systems for accurate housing assignments and records for various student constituencies.
- Review and process all requests for room changes, including meeting with students, as needed.
- Assist with the coordination of all occupancy data, including identifying trends, projections and forecasting for future housing needs.
- Correspond with incoming and current students and families regarding occupancy status and housing deadlines.
- Coordinate with Student Academic Services to meet the needs of students who require accommodations.
- Liaise with Conferences and Events on the usage and management of residence halls and apartments during the summer.
- Partner with Facilities Services to ensure routine custodial and maintenance needs are being met including room turnover, preventative maintenance, and service request satisfaction.
- Connect with pertinent offices to ensure accurate data including the Office of the Registrar, Bursar's Office, and Card Services.
- Coordinate vendors that provide housing-related services to our residential population (e.g. storage of belongings).
- Inform the Assistant Vice President in the research, benchmarking, development and implementation of initiatives within the residence halls that enhance the residential experience.
- Develop and maintain manuals outlining policies and procedures regarding housing operations.
- Provide 24-hour, on-call, first response coverage on a rotating basis.
- Serve as a mandatory reporter (Clery Act) and responsible employee (Title IX) and report related incidents according to federal mandates and university policies.
- Participate in services, activities and programs within the department, division, and institution, as needed, which may occur in the evening and on weekends.

- Master's degree required with 2-3 years of work experience at time of hire
