Job Description:
NY Creates is seeking applicants for a Marketing and Communications Specialist who will work under the direction of the VP for Marketing, Communications and Strategic Affairs to provide written and visual marketing content to support the overall branding and recruitment strategies for NY CREATES.
This position is responsible for:
Assist the VP of Marketing and Communications to develop long- and short-term marketing/communications strategies to promote NY CREATES program offerings, events, technical accomplishments, and expertise among target audiences through various communication channels.
Develop marketing materials for use at conferences and events, including brochures, banners, posters, and exhibit booths. These could be either for in person events or virtual events.
Develop written and visual content for the promotion of NY CREATES. This content may include press releases, printed material, social media posts and advertisements, website content, videos, and event invitations and promotions.
Develop visual content on behalf of the Human Resources related to recruitment advertising campaigns.
Maintain and regularly update the NY CREATES website and social media accounts.
Assist with enforcing brand and corporate messaging guidelines across the NY CREATES physical and virtual presences.
Maintain and regularly review an editorial calendar for use in planning, tracking and reporting NY CREATES promotions and news mentions.
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements for Marketing Specialist:
- Evidence of strong written communication skills
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in the development of content for digital marketing, including graphic design, website, social media platforms, and marketing email
- 3+ years' experience planning and leading strategic marketing campaigns
- Must be able to provide examples of previous marketing materials the applicant developed or assisted with. Examples of both virtual and print marketing are preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong written and visual communications skills, including the adherence to established branding guidelines;
- Strong computer skills in the tools used for graphic design, print and online production: Adobe Creative Suite (Required: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); and familiarity with HTML and common platforms for website management; and
- Experience with email marketing best practices, including list development/maintenance, message development, and frequency of delivery.

Salary Range: $55,000-$75,000 *Posted rate dependent on education and experience.
