Job Summary:
The Department of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences affiliates with over 500 clinical sites. Clinical Education represents 40% of physical therapist student education. The Coordinator of Clinical Education (CE) manages clinical education administrative support operations, including clinical education site contract files, clinical education databases, clinical education outcome data for accreditation purposes, and special initiatives. The coordinator creates, maintains, and generates data flow that facilitates and improves the effectiveness and efficiency of the clinical education processes and assures a positive relationship of the Department with internal and external communities.
Please note:Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends; participation is expected at evening and weekend clinical education courses/workshops.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Maintains all clinical education data for DPT students using the Exxat online system. This includes overseeing student data and documentation (demographic, academic, and medical), approving medical records for site criteria, collection and analysis of data regarding clinical curriculum requirements, matching candidates with clinical education facilities across the country, and generating queries and creating reports for Clinical Experiences I-IV and meeting accreditation standards. Serves as Exxat system leader by mastering system functionality, utilizing system tools to serve new initiatives, making recommendations to Directors of Clinical Education on best practices, serves as the liaison with Exxat account representatives, attends annual Exxat user conference as needed. Manages all correspondence related to clinical education including, but not limited to, commitment requests, placement notifications, thank you letters to clinical sites, and information regarding clinical education benefits.
- Assists with management of clinical education agreements for Clinical Experiences I-IV. Includes initiating new agreements, assuring existing agreements are current, and initiating updating of agreements when needed.
- Helps develop DPT clinical education materials, including print, electronic, and website. Maintains the clinical education pages of the Department website.
- Manages data-entry and outcome analysis of Clinical Education outcome measures. Summarizes clinical instructor and student feedback.
- Plans conferences related to clinical education, such as the Clinical Instructor Credentialing Course, Clinical practice Ceremony, Clinical Education Appreciation Workshop, etc.
- Oversees the successful coordination and execution of all Integrated Clinical Education experiences in the DPT program including communication with clinical sites, scheduling, and communications with students and faculty.
- Fulfils general administration activities such as meeting minutes, runs reports, etc.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration within Higher Education or related field; 2 years experience with systems or database management. The successful candidate for this position will be a team player with effective word processing and technical knowledge; analytical, organizational, verbal and written communication, and positive interpersonal skills, professional behaviors, and a meticulous attention to detail that allows accuracy in producing electronic files and hard copies of documents. Expected to demonstrate initiative in completing job responsibilities and a willingness to learn the various components of the position.

- Three or more years experience in higher education, ideally in a healthcare field
- Knowledge of clinical education policies and procedures, legal processes for contracts.
- Superior system management and technical skills
- Experience analyzing outcomes for accreditation purposes and department strategic planning.
