The Lab for Computational Neuroimaging (LCN) at Massachusetts General Hospital hosts several internship programs each year and is seeking an Internship Coordinator to assist with running the programs.
About the internship
Interns work on an NIH-funded research project that focuses on mapping the human brain using MRI. Interns will be trained to identify a particular anatomical structure in the brain and then will label that structure using software built by our lab. The internship is conducted primarily remotely with some opportunities to visit the research center. We supply the laptops to the interns for the work to be done remotely. Interns are high school and/or college students from low income and minority communities in the Boston area who are interested in STEM fields. We partner with the Cambridge chapter of My Brother's Keeper – an organization committed to disrupting and eradicating the chronic social, mental, economical, and educational barriers for young people of color – to reach students that would be difficult to recruit without them. In addition to the research project, the program consists of weekly career seminars and one-on-one mentorship sessions.
