Job Description
ASSOCIATE DEAN, ADVISING AND STRATEGIC INITIATIVES (ASI), Undergraduate Advising Center (UAC), to assume a newly created role responsible for leading a team that focuses on the comprehensive assessment of academic advising, data analytics, communications, upper-level student programming, and other advising strategic initiatives that increase the effectiveness of advising and student success at MIT. Will report directly to the associate dean/director of UAC and be responsible for developing and implementing advising communications and assessment strategies to enhance the quality of academic advising, support upper-level students, and foster a positive advising experience for undergraduate students at MIT; and work collaboratively with the UAC staff, academic departments, and other student support units to provide innovative and effective programs and services to enhance student success.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: master’s degree; at least seven years of advising, counseling, or academic administration experience, including experience in assessment, student programming, and/or communication strategies; strong supervisory and management skills and a proven track record of leading teams and programs to success; ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and administrators; strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze and interpret data related to student success and retention, advising effectiveness, and programmatic outcomes; strong organizational and project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to convey complex information to a variety of audiences; and ability to approach responsibilities with flexibility in a busy and ever-changing environment. Hiring range: $95,000 – 120,000
This is a full-time, hybrid position with occasional evening and weekend work.
