The Growth Team is dedicated to supporting the department's goals of driving aggressive digital subscription growth and optimizing channel strategy to sustain the print subscription base. This team is responsible for driving all subscription types (print and digital) for 200+ local Gannett markets and USA Today. This team owns and manages the acquisition email strategy and collaborates with key internal departments such as MarTech, Marketing Operations, Newsrooms, Product, Analytics, and Brand to help build strategies to drive conversions.
The Email Marketing Manager will be responsible for growing and optimizing acquisition email journeys where we win back and convert qualified leads into subscribers. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced program and have a get-it-done mentality. The Growth Marketing Manager must have experience with email and lead nurture strategy. They should also have an understanding of data segmentation, email journey development, analysis, and be able to continuously learn from results. The Growth Marketing Manager must be willing to be hands-on on a day-to-day basis evaluating and optimizing the program while ensuring both short- and long-term goals are met.
Base Salary: $70,000-$80,000/yr
Duties and Responsibilities
- Own lead nurture and win back journey messaging and strategy.
- Collaborate with design, martech, and marketing operations to test and deploy engaging journeys that improve overall conversion.
- Partner with the Data Science & Analytics teams to form insights that help drive winning decisions
- Monitor program KPIs in order to make proper adjustments and identify actionable opportunities
- Develop and run ad-hoc reports and analysis to answer key business questions as needed
- Partner with the data intelligence team to develop and enhance reporting
- Support the delivery of assets, reports, and presentations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant experience
- 3+ years developing and driving email journey strategy, preferably for a complex and digital-focused organization with DTC brands or products
- Strong understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Ability to interpret data to inform actionable insights that inform campaign strategy
- Ability to effectively communicate cross-functionally with all levels
- Ability to prioritize tasks and projects appropriately, understanding what involves the most urgency
- Highly organized self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and an anything-is-possible attitude
- Efficient in MS Office Suite, most notably PowerPoint and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands on experience with an ESP (Salesforce, etc)
- Experience with Google Analytics
- Experience with Tableau
Remote work is an option. Eastern time zone is preferred

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $68,400 and $161,000. Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and union representation, if applicable.
